The Virginia Tech On Campus Transition Program, or VT-OCTP, is a transition program for students with disabilities, ages 18 to 22. This program seeks to surround a student with age-appropriate peers, enhance job and social skills, and lend support and guidance to the student whatever their need may be. Our goal is to build long-lasting relationships between staff, volunteers, and students, and to make the transition out of the public school system a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Though our "home base" is on Virginia Tech's campus in Blacksburg, VA, you'll see us just about everywhere in the community. Our students are involved in both on and off-campus employment opportunities, and are actively apart of the New River Valley community. Whether it may be swim lessons at the recreation center, a group lunch at our favorite restaurant, showcasing their own art collection down town, or even taking part in learning how to drive, our students our constantly interacting with their peers and community in an integrative way.
